Dating and compatibility
How do I know whether this is worth exploring?
You might enjoy someone’s company and still find yourself trying to decide whether the entire relationship could work before you know them well. Or you may keep investing in connections that leave you uncertain about where you stand.
We can work on recognizing what you want, communicating it honestly, and making a decision that fits the information you have.
Explore working togetherKeeping the decision the right size
Choosing another date is different from choosing a shared future. We’ll look at what decision is actually in front of you, what you already know, and what you still need to learn.
That can include attraction, how you handle differences, what commitment means to you, and whether your plans about children or other priorities are compatible. There is no requirement to keep exploring when you already know you don’t want to.
Using conversations to learn about the fit
We can practise expressing interest, asking about expectations, or saying that a pace doesn’t work for you. If you struggle to distinguish uncertainty from a reason to leave, we can examine a specific experience and consider what would help you decide.
The aim is to participate honestly and notice reciprocity. You don’t need tactics designed to make someone chase you or a version of yourself built around what you think will keep them interested.
What you can work toward
You may become clearer about what you’re looking for, more direct about your intentions, and more able to let an unsuitable connection end. You may also give a promising connection room to develop without demanding certainty too early.
Dating still involves disappointment and choices you cannot control. Coaching can help you make your own choices more deliberately while respecting the other person’s freedom to do the same.
Becoming confident without needing certainty
Dating rarely gives you certainty early on. We'll work on paying attention to how someone actually treats you and how you feel with them, instead of ruling people out too fast or holding on to a connection that isn't working.
An illustrative example
Someone has been seeing a person for a few weeks and can't tell if it's going anywhere. Rather than disappearing, they want to end it kindly. We'd talk through what they've learned, how to say it directly, and how to keep exploring without waiting for any one person's approval.
This is a hypothetical example, not a real client's story.
Questions you might have
Can you help me become more confident about dating?
We can practise the moments you find difficult, such as starting a conversation, expressing interest, or declining another date. Confidence may grow through experience, but we don’t need to wait for it before choosing a manageable step.
Will you tell me whether someone is right for me?
I can help you examine the fit and the questions that matter to you. The decision remains yours, and there may be things you can only learn over time.
